The Teacher Training Department started in 1993 and is conducted in both Hindi and Gujarati. The D.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) course was recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a statutory body governed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 1999 for a 2-year course. 429 teachers have been trained till now and 37 are in the process of completing their course for Diploma.

Under RCI, Akshar also started offering an Advanced Certificate course of 6 months in ‘Inclusive Education - Cross Disabilities’, as a pilot project for RCI. This began in February 2018 with 40 candidates and concluded in the same year. This was the third teacher training course undertaken by the Trust.
