Children with problems additional to deafness are also admitted.
No deaf child is refused admission
Admissions are through the year.
Older deaf children are admitted.
Two Mediums, Gujarati and Hindi
Akshar is the earliest and 1 of 6 Centers, for the deaf in Gujarat, which is preparing students for Std. 12 Gujarat State board exams.
Till date 123 deaf students have completed Std. X& or XII Gujarat State board exams.
Students come from all socio-economic backgrounds.
100% of the students are subsidized. Not even one student has paid the required fees.

All 3 buses are subsidized.

Working with Amplification Devices - programmable H.A.s for 80% students, Check Lists for maintenance, Speech Software, Speech Trainers, Loop Induction Systems.
