Trainees coming from various states 2016 and 2017

Akshar started the Teacher Training Programme in 1993. This was recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) in 1999for a 2 Year D.Ed. Spl. Ed. (DHH) (Deaf & Hard of Hearing) Course. The RCI is a statutory body governed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. 261 teachers have been trained and 14 are completing their Course. The training is conducted in both Hindi and Gujarati.In the last 2 years trainees have been coming from states other than Gujarat. The Rehabilitation Council of India has given Permanent Recognition to the Teacher Training Programme. In April 2009, on the basis of assessment, the Council awarded ‘Very Good’ accredited status to the centre.

Akshar is affiliated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University for a 2 Year Distance Mode B.Ed. (SEDE) (HI)programme. 57 students have cleared the course.

After passing this two-year Diploma Programme, approximately 80% of the trainees are employed in Government schools and the remaining work in NGOs or are self employed.

Seminars and Workshops are regularly organized for special educators of the hearing impaired in other parts of Gujarat State. This is a process of exchange of knowledge, techniques and other relevant information.

D.Ed Result 2019-21 First Year

Offline Classes started for First Year D.Ed. Sp.edu. (HI) course of Batch 2021-23 at Akshar Trust from 14 Feb,2022 with 14 trainees.

Theory Exams for Sem.1 & Sem.2 of Batch 2020-22 were held from Feb 7 to 14, 2022 at St. Xavier’s Technical School,Sherki.27 trainees appeared.
